Mr. Ewo Chang was one of the founder members and our first President, a graduate from the Cornell University, U.S.A., has contributed his great effort for the success of this society. He was a hotel veteran, starting his hotel career with Hilton International, then a Senior Lecturer of Chinese University and the Head of the Extra Mural Studies before his retirement in 1998.
The society is a limited company registered under the Company Ordinance and is governed by an Executive Committee which functions as the Board of Directors. The Executive Committee is elected by the members during Annual General Meeting.

1. Over age of 18, and
2. Minimum with 2 years employment of supervisor or managerial personnel in hospitality industry.
Fees:
Being a non-profit organization, fees are set so that income is just to cover anticipated expenses.
The fees are set as below:

OBJECTIVES
Tourism is one of the major earner of foreign currency. High standards of service and advanced operating technology are vital elements to the Hospitality Industry. The Society of Hong Kong Hospitality Professionals is a non-profit organization whose main aims are:
- To Promote, develop, assist in and co-ordinate business within or associated with the hospitality industry especially for hotel and tourism, entertainment, catering and restaurants.
- To Provide consultation services in feasibility studies, market surveys, cost analysis, management advice, conceptual design and other services within the hospitalityindustry.
- To exchange knowledge, information, experience and findings in the hospitality industry amongst members.
- To advance and promote education, technical and academic training in the hospitality industry through the establishment and operation of schools, training centres,technical institutes and other places of education.
- To participate in tourism events promoting social interaction within the community.
- To improve the professional skills and knowledge of its members and to advance their interests.

SOME PROJECTS & CONSULTANCY WORK
A. White Swan Hotel, Guangzhou, 1983
One week pre-opening training program for all executives and department heads of the hotel. As inviated by the Hotel Owner (the late Henry Fok), more than twenty executives from various Hong Kong hotels went to Guangzhou for this program.
B. China Travel Service, Guangdong 1985
Two-week training program held in Guangzhou for managers of CTS group of Guangdong Province in tourism and Hotel Management. CTS operated 76 hotels in GuangDung area.
C. National Tourism Administration and Hong Kong Pui Hua Education Foundation 1985
One-week training program in Tourism and Hotel Management held in White Swan Hotel, Guangzhou. Forty Hotel Managers from different parts of China were attending.
D. Train the Trainers (TTT) Program (1985-1988)
Authorized by the Municipal Government of Shanghai. This program was to train supervisory personnel in Hotel Management for the Hotels in Shanghai. A number of society members participated in lecturing different topics of this program. It was held in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China.
E. Macao China Travel Services, Hotel Management(International) Ltd (1986)
One week training program in Food and Beverage Management. More than thirty middle management executive of five hotels located in Macao, Hong Kong and Guangzhou attended in Macao.
F. Zhongshan University, Guangzhou 1987
An intensive one-year full time training program to train the lecturers of the newly established Hotel and Tourism School of Zhongshan University. This program involves more than forty University lecturers and hotel executives from Hong Kong.
G. Lai Lai Sheraton Hotel, Taipei 1987
One week training program for the staff in Accounting, Personnel and Rooms Operation.
H. Ecolab Scholarship 1988 - 1990
Successfully nominated 4 candidates to attend the Summer Executive Development Program (CPD) at Cornell University, New York state, U.S.A.
I. Guangdong Hotel Management Ltd 1996
Two-week training program for Sales and Marketing staff members of GuangDong Hotels.
J. Community Chest - Million Walk
Participating the charity social events in Hong Kong.
K. Seminar on International Prospects and Opportunities for China's Tourism and Hotel Industries 2002
Together with AusAsia, Le Cordon Bleu School of Hotel Management, Adelaide Institute of TAFE conducted a join seminar on the subject of "International Prospects and Opportunities for China's Tourism and Hotel Industries" to 80 Guangzhou Government Officials and Hotel Executives in September 2002.
L. Lecturing at Macau Millennium College (MMC) 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012
Six members were invited by Macau Millennium College (中 西 創 新 學 院) to lecture to their year 2 students on Hotel & Resort management. MMC is a private university in Macau supported by Mr. Stanley HO with the objective to train their Casino Executives and also accepting Macau Citizen for a four years university degree program.
